BUSINESS AS USUAL

Phony Tony may have finally left office but, as he intended, his legacy survives him.

It would be churlish not to recognize the achievements that Tony Blair can claim. At a national level, the situation in Northern Ireland is far better than it has been for a very long time.

He has turned Labour into the natural party of government and has rid that party of Clause 4 and its fixation with class war politics.

On a personal level, as far as one can gauge from the TV, Tony Blair seems a nice guy.

Nevertheless, his legacy is shameful.

Although there will be no prosecution, he and his close associates have been under criminal investigation for selling honours for cash and the sleaze of what they have done remains. He has undoubtedly packed the House of Lords with his own cronies and other Lefties. They are now reportedly abusing the pass system for their own gain.

He has consistently blocked moves to hold elections to the House of Lords [or whatever a reformed chamber might be called]. So much for democracy – Blair’s cronies prefer to literally lord it over the rest of us.

Tony Blair has corrupted the constitution with the creation of parliaments for Scotland and Wales while retaining Scottish and Welsh MPs in Westminster. This is nothing more than vote rigging. He is rigging the vote in order to keep Labour in office in England. Gordon Brown is more than happy to continue with that vote rigging.

This is in addition to the more routine vote rigging, such as that which has been introduced with postal ballots. In the Asian communities, stories abound of people wandering around with shopping bags full of postal ballots.

Then there is the scandal of the manipulation of constituency boundaries, with Wales having smaller constituencies than England.

Having won the last election with a specific manifesto commitment to hold a referendum on the new EU constitution/treaty, Labour now intend to rat on that pledge. We will be submerged into an EU superstate against our wishes and without having our say.

Needless to say, England has been denied a referendum on whether we should have our own parliament. Such referendums are good enough for the Scots and Welsh, but not the English.

We have witnessed and are continuing to witness the end of genuine democracy.

Yet Labour are unrepentant. For them power is everything. It is business as usual.

Yet the most dangerous legacy Tony Blair has left us with is the complete abandonment of border controls, unrestricted mass immigration, and the accompanying Islamist terrorism. He has brought Islamist terrorism onto the streets of Britain.

Unless the policy of mass immigration is stopped, then the English will be reduced to a racial minority in England.

Tony Blair’s legacy is truly shameful.
