THE LOONY LEFT

Apparently, the Church of England is contemplating rejecting St George as England’s patron saint, and hope to replace him with St Alban. The change would also entail the replacement of the Cross of St George flag for a diagonal yellow cross on a blue background - similar to the St Andrew’s cross, the flag of Scotland.

The change is to be considered at the next meeting of the Church’s parliament.

The proposal is being advocated by Rev Philip Chester, vicar of St Matthew’s, Westminster. He has described the use of St George as the English patron saint as ‘dotty’.

The Church of England also believe that St George’s image is too warlike and potentially offensive to Muslims.

It would never occur to the Church of England that such nonsense is certain to be offensive to many Christians and Englishmen.
